MEGA MIND

Today i was privliged to see the recent animation by dream works.... Mega Mind.
and it was fun sitting in the cinema next to my big brother Dan analysing the principles of animation.... well i was analysing... my brother was just sitting there and enjoying the film.........
i personally thought that they did a very good job :D the textures and shapes of the characters was very asethetic...... humour was amusing... had me laughing out loud in afew spots.....
there was one point towards the end where i so roxys character running towards titan and mega mind.... she was in the background so not the main focal point of the scene........i though her run looked abit off..... not as believeable.... more like the fake runs your see in alot of computer games..... meaning that their legs are moving but the law of gravity has not been applied...... no offence intended to computer game lovers out there...... this was only at a first glance.... i'll have to see it again to see if my initial observation was correct......
i think the thing about this movie that i enjoy the most was how much it reminded me of our animation class...... i remember this one day in class when we all started singing the song " close to you" well the only part of that song we really know.... which is the LA LA LA LA LA........ LA LA LA LA LA LA...... and you know the rest..... well frank would.... how could he forget ..... it was his wedding song:D
..... any way it just was amusing to me that they used that song once mega mind had taking over metro city.... it reminded me of class..... over all i really enjoyed mega mind as a movie...... it wasn't to corny and there were alot of jokes that every one could relate to:D

i never got to really say good bye to the class before we hit holidays.... i just wanted to say thank you for an awesome year..... i have certain learn't alot this year from every one.... and i have felt so priviliged to be in such a unique class of creative individuals :D
i wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year...... i am looking forward to joining you all as second years next year :D it shall be fun :D
p.s. sean did you get your secret santa present from me?..... yes i was your secret santa :D and i hope you liked it..... chocolate sibling :D

To me animation is a form of expression. Whether it’s an expression of self or and expression of the world around us, it is an expression.
As people, we are constantly working, thinking and doing….. Animation creates and opportunity for us to stop, to reflect, to feel. I enjoy creating those moments.

this was an after effects class task...... we were introduced to the puppet tool... this little green man was created in clay.. photo graphed.... and then imported onto after effects..... this was fun! i really want to learn more about after effects!!!

this rotoschope nearlly took my sight!!! as frank and the second years would well know.... i spent my spare time in the corner of the animation studio.... i am surprised i did not get sick..... maybe it was my high level of anixety that compensated for my ability to get sick..... any way i am told that this is good rotoscoping..... i just drew on every frame..... whether that was a smart idea i do not know..... the result looks good..... i still need to finish :D

another lesson in after effects!!! i got carried away with the whole batman idea that frank was going on about.... i was reminising the old days when i use to watch it on cheese tv so i put my own little spin on it.... added alittle colour to the class task!!!

this was just a first attempt with in after effects making a title..... this paticular title was created for a work place health and safety movie we made to cover course requirments..... i love that is shatters but i think it would be more effectibe if i can make it glitchy like a horror movie..... it would compliment the front more than the shatter.... anyways enjoy! :D

this is my first stop mo animation!!! its very tidious work.... but i am happy with the end result..... sorry for the random fuzz that shows up, i have know idea what that is.

First time in after effects...... nearlly had a heart attack at the end of the day but it looks awsome!!! hehehe well i feel proud with my days work..... thanks frank for saving me from an anxiety attack :D i shall go get some air now and a walk

i love animation becuase its the one place where i can laugh and snort at the same time and just be out there!!!! thats pretty much what this is saying....... i had alot of fun recording the voice for this..... yes it is my voice and it is unchanged..... that is what happens when you leave me alone with a recording sound system in a empty room at 3 in the afternoon...... got to lov 3 oclockidous!!!!

EKKA experience

i was looking forward to my first time at the EKKA. i had always driven past and wondered what it was like on the other side. i got my chance when a friend invited me to come for free! natuarlly i jumped at the chance.
then next morning i arose earlly to make it to a 6.30 train to Bowen Hills station. it was pouring with rain. i met my friend.... and the rest happened ended up like this :C

yesterday was a low day for me. unfortunantly for frank he walked out to the tables outside the animation room to see me in a crumpled heap under a table. he witnessed me in my embarressments try to scoop the empty chocolate wrappers off the table. but nothing could erase the horrible sight of me hugging the table leg in fits of tears and laughter.
i am a sugarholic!! and i need help!!

orange revelation

For those who know me i am not a person of many words. I let my artwork speak for me.....
the other morning i got up early as i have always done and i prepared my lunch. i cut up my orange and placed all the pieces into a plastic bag. My grandfather, watching with curiosty, pointed out this observation that he made.
" you know if you were your father, you would have put all the pieces of the orange back into its original form and then you would have wrapped it in glad wrap."
i held up the bag of sliced oranges and twirled it around, admiring the simplicity of how each piece sat apart.
to my suprise i replied by saying." well i am not my father."
it may seem silly that the way i cut my oranges had such a profound affect on me. But i realised at that point in time that i am my own person. i am not my father and i am not my mother. i am who i am
